We are expecting........a baby girl!
Hello all,
Yes we found out a fews weeks ago now that we are expecting a baby girl! It came as a bit of a shock because we both throught that it was def a boy. We are both really pleased about the surprise and are looking forward to meeting our daughter!
After the scan we went out and bought her a pair of dark denim jeans with little red cherries on the turn up - very cute and cool just like her mummy! They are for 9-12 months so she will have a while to grow into them but we could not resist.
We have not thought of any names yet so any and all suggestions welcome.
Hope that you are well and will keep you posted.
Love,
Michelle & Martin xx

Welcome
Hiya everyone...
Thanks very much Jillian for setting this up. We are not really sure what to write and what you want to know. I assume that you are not bothered about my daily aliments - feeling like I could be sick and eat a sandwich at the same time, getting no sleep as I have to use the loo every 2 hours, sore knees, massive sore boobs, forgetfulness, feeling faint, I get heartburn from oatmeal, headaches and many, many more. It is a wonder that women do this over and over and over again!
We are counting down the days until the next scan when we hopefully find out if it is a boy or girl, depending on whether the baby obliges. We have about 3 weeks to go, at which time we will also be about 1/2 way through the pregnancy which is quite scary!! I want a boy (I think) and Martin wants a boy (take to soccer) / girl (look up to daddy). I guess we are happy either way and are just hoping for a healthy, sleep-through-the-night baby! We can dream!!
Madison is going to have the shock of her life when the baby comes. She is a very spoilt kitty! I am sure that Martin and I will have a shock as well so I suppose we can all be shocked together!
In terms of names, well the baby may be old enough to choose his / her own by the time we decide on a name. Suggestions welcome! Martin likes Harvey, Henry and Mason for a boy and Molly, Martha and Madison for a girl. Michelle has veto-ed all of these except Mason! Michelle likes Oscar for a boy and Marnie for a girl.
We have been trying to read as much as possible both on pregnancy and parenting but it is a minefield - millions of books, many of which contradict one another. Martin managed to find a book called 'Owners Workshop Manual' which is for Dad's and is written like a car manual. It is actually a really good book, describing and explaining everything from conception to 2 years.
I am really excited about being a Mum but still find it very strange that I will be a Mum. Especially because I will be a Mum to a Limey!
Well I will try to update this regularly if you would like me to. Not sure how often - what do you think Jillian?!
Hangin' tough, Michelle xxx
Martin here -
the flat is a mess, the cat is starving, the washing is piling up, i have to make my own dinner, and where's Michelle on the sofa moaning !! I dont see what all the fuss is about looks like a good excuse to do nothing to me.......just joshing. michelle is a trooper! I Love michelle so much and cant wait for our new chapter to begin. I am so excited!!!

If you need to post a comment and do not have an account, just go to "comments" then at the bottom of all the comments there is a section called "post a Comment" click on that then type your comment. Under "comment As:" scroll down to "Name/Url". You can just add your name and leave the Url option blank. That way you can comment without having an account, sorry I forget to mention this earlier.
